Dr. Dana Lehrer is a dual certified Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with certifications in Family practice and Psychiatry through University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and the University of Milwaukee. Throughout her career, as a nurse her focus and passion has always been mental health and trauma informed care. Dana’s passion for working with children and adults who struggle with mental health concerns and a desire to educate and change lives lead her to complete her psychiatric certification and join Sherman as a prescriber. Having worked in healthcare for over twenty years in a variety of settings Dana’s experience provides comfort and opportunity to those seeking a real connection with their provider.
Dana has experience treating adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, dysthymia, personality disorders, bipolar disorder and PTSD. She has worked in corrections and with those who recovering from addition to drugs and alcohol with dual diagnosis of depression, anxiety, and other mental health disparities.
Her passion is connecting with her patients and providing a safe space to address their mental health struggles, identify goals and desired outcomes, collaborating to reach personal bests for each patient. Dana believes in treating the whole person, In addition to medication and therapies, providing coping strategies, listening, and encouraging patients is all part of healing and moving forward.
