Hello! My name is Katelyn, and I am excited to work together. It takes a lot of courage and strength to ask for advice; especially when it is the last thing you want to do. Let me tell you though personal experience this too shall pass! It is okay to say you need help. I specialize in finding your strengths and capitalizing on them. Therapy should not be feared; it should be celebrated. All you must do is get your feet wet. I’ll help with diving in.
I received my MS in Counseling, with an emphasis in community counseling from Concordia University Wisconsin, and my BS in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my main work is with adults using a behavioral approach. I have extensive training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), DBT-prolonged exposure (PE), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as specialized treatment in self-harming, suicidal, and crisis intervention.
Throughout all my experiences I have gained the knowledge and understanding of how challenging and rewarding it can be working with vulnerable populations. I am confident in my ability to assist my clients in bettering themselves as they see fit. I pride myself in the ability to encourage growth, independence and responsibility in every one of the individuals I work with.
I look forward to meeting you.
